SEREMBAN: UMNO berharap Jabatan Pendaftaran Pertubuhan (ROS) dapat memberi\u00a0keputusan segera berhubung permohonan parti itu untuk meminda perlembagaannya\u00a0bagi membolehkan parti membuat persiapan untuk mengadakan perhimpunan agung yang melibatkan pemilihan.<\/p>\n

Timbalan Presiden UMNO Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan berkata\u00a0pihaknya telah menulis surat kepada ROS meminta jasa baik supaya keputusan itu dapat diketahui sebelum 31 Julai bagi memastikan parti dapat menguruskan hal ehwal parti sekiranya tidak diluluskan.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 kita tiada desak apa-apa tapi kami perlukan jawapan dan kami tunggu 31 Julai tapi 31 Julai hari minggu, kalau boleh hari ini kita dapat surat.<\/p>\n

…\u00a0kerana \u2018ya\u2019 atau \u2018tidak\u2019 (keputusan), parti perlu buat persiapan untuk mengadakan mesyuarat kalau tak lulus, maka pemilihan mesti dilakukan tahun ini kerana tempoh kita 18 bulan akan berakhir hujung tahun,\u201d\u00a0 katanya kepada pemberita selepas mengadakan pertemuan antara kepimpinan\u00a0Barisan Nasional (BN) di sini hari ini.<\/p>\n

UMNO sebelum ini meluluskan pindaan perlembagaan parti yang membolehkan pemilihan diadakan tidak melebihi tempoh enam bulan selepas Pilihan Raya Umum.<\/p>\n

Notis pindaan perlembagaan itu dikemukakan kepada ROS pada 17 Mei lepas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
